A cyber security specialist is engaged in the development of security systems for various communication networks and electronic databases, tests and improves own and third-party developments in order to avoid risks of leakage of information constituting state or commercial secrets, confidential information. This profession is relatively young and has become widespread due to the introduction of computer and network technologies in almost all organizations, from small commercial firms to state security agencies.

Academic and professional requirements for specialists in the field of programming, computer science and information and communication technologies are taken into account when training cyber security specialists. At the same time, considerable attention is paid to the study and practical application of information security technologies in the development of database and knowledge management systems, network applications and Internet services, data transmission and encryption protocols.
